Achieving a tattoo causes slight bleeding. Small scabs will thus form at the drawing, it’s normal. To promote proper healing, it is important to comply with the care shown by the tattooist.
If he applied a bandage, it is better to withdraw after a few hours to allow “breathing” skin. It is possible that small seeps occur. Then pat the area gently with gauze, then apply a regular healing cream for ten days recommended by the tattooist.
Complete healing of a tattoo requires an average of two weeks (but can be longer if the design is important).
Warning: exposure to sunlight should be avoided for the 6 months following the completion of the tattoo.
The major risk in achieving a tattoo is a infection, Either bacterial (infection by streptococcus or staph) or viral (Hepatitis B or C herpes, HIV…). It’s rare, but the risk exists, however. And that is why the hygiene conditions must be optimal. The tattoo artist must exercise in clean and disinfected regularly. He must wear gloves (new) and loosen the instruments it will use to the customer. If these basic conditions are not met, it is better to change the shop! The new regulation which governs the activities of tattooists better, now allows more security.
